About Me
Born and raised in New York State I did not, in fact, grow up bilingual. Though it certainly became a driving force as an adult.
I took Spanish in high school -which, (surprise!) didn’t quite help me become fluent, or hold a conversation. So it wasn’t until college, when I studied abroad in Sevilla, that I fell in love with Spain and how it jump started my journey to becoming bilingual.
Now, over a decade later, I’ve lived on and off in Spain, met my husband here, had our first kid here, learned enough Spanish to finally consider myself bilingual, and had the opportunity to travel throughout Europe.
I know what it is to struggle learning a language, to jump between constant doubt and a sense of accomplishment. On my good days I feel worthy of the title bilingual, and on my bad days it feels like a never-ending journey.
I am currently a primary teacher with nine plus years of experience at bilingual schools in Texas and Spain and I have a Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.
I currently live near Madrid with my husband, our daughter, and our dog.
